Cheesy Pita Crisps

Here’s a recipe for a yummy appetizer. Everyone will love it. And it’s easy! By the way, I used freash Parmesan cheese, which makes it extra special. 🙂

CHEESY PITA CRISPS     pita crisps


  • 2 whole wheat pita breads (6 inches)
  • ¼ cup reduced-fat margarine, melted
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. onion powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tblsps. grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

 Split each pita bread into two rounds. Cut each round into four triangles; place inside side up on a baking sheet coated with nonstick cooking spray.

In a bowl, combine the margarine, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper; stir in the Parmesan cheese. Spread over triangles. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. YIELD: 8 SERVINGS

  • 5g fat (2 g saturated fat)
  • 6 mg cholesterol
  • 264 mg sodium
  • 9g carbohydrate
  • 1 g fiber
  • 4 g protein
