Crumbs – The Face of Christianity, Pts 2-3 (Our Family, quotes, etc.)

(Mary Beth, featured in this week’s post, and her two “boys” Sam and Zeke)

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” Leo Buscaglia

“Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you.” Robert Fulghum

(Our grandkids, all nine of them!)

“Conspicuously absent from the Ten Commandments is any obligation of parent to child. We must suppose that God felt it unnecessary to command by law what He had ensured by love.”  Robert Brault

“ . . If you have 120 volts of electricity coming into your house but you have broken wiring, you may turn on the switch, but nothing works – no lights come on, the stove doesn’t warm, the radio doesn’t turn on. Why? Because you have broken wiring. The power is ready to do its work…, but where there is broken wiring, there is no power. . . .” A. W. Tozer  The Works Of A.W. Tozer

“Every Day can be an Exciting Adventure for the Christian who knows the reality of being filled with the Holy Spirit and who lives constantly, moment by moment, under His gracious direction.” Bill Bright

Last week, I suggested you order the booklet Have You Made the Wonderful Discovery of the Spirit-Filled Life? If you’d like to read it on line, you can click on the following:  How to be Filled with the Holy Spirit  at

“…the mechanics of a Spirit-filled life do not provide for a spasmodic filling that is, the Christian is not filled only when doing service such as preaching or teaching, but the Christian who is living a normal life of moment by moment yieldedness to God experiences a moment by moment fullness of the Spirit. No Christian can do with less and at the same time live a victorious life.” Kenneth Wuest

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and our heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

“For peace of mind, resign as general manager of the universe.” Author Unknown

Addendum: We are well aware our family is not perfect. Not by a long shot! Any success we’ve had is due to God’s grace alone and the power of His Holy Spirit. This is why we’re so committed to sharing these truths with anyone who’ll listen. 🙂 If you’re discouraged about your family, take heart! Acts 2:38-39 calls us to repentance (a change of heart) and then assures us “. . .The promise (of forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit) is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

From our family, we pray God’s blessings on You and Yours!
