Crumbs – To Infinity and Beyond!

“And this is Buzz Lightyear, the coolest toy ever! He can fly, oh, and shoot lasers! He’s sworn to protect the galaxy from the Evil Emperor Zurg!” Andy, showing Buzz Lightyer to his friend, Bonnie.

As Albert Einstein said – “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

“To infinity and beyond!” In 2008, astronauts stressed the catchphrase when they took an action figure of Buzz Lightyear into space as part of an educational experience for students. Also in 2008, the phrase made international news when it was reported that a father and son had continually repeated the phrase to help them keep track of each other while treading water for 15 hours in the Atlantic Ocean.

*His Dominion:  “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations.” Psalm 22:27-28

*His power  “. . . My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” II Corinthians 12:9

*His glory is manifested in:

  • His birth: “Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rest.’” Luke 2:13-14
  • His life: “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
  • His Transfiguration: ”Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.” Luke 9:28-32
  • His Death and Resurrection: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom an strength and honor and glory and praise!” Revelation 5:11b
  • His Second Coming: “At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:27
  • His miracles: “This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.” John 2:11
  • In us: “I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one.” John 17:22
  • In heaven: “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” John 17:24
